I know, it's been awhile. Way too long. I was here more when I was sick and in that space of recovery then I have been the last 9 months. I'm sorry. The Universe has a way of reminding us, that as much as we want to control things - that's just not the way it happens. I was so

So I'm officially 10 weeks post my final surgery. The last recovery was more difficult than I expected, and I found a surprising new outlet for meditation and inspiration. This, in turn, has been a huge help for me in taking the step back into my creative life. This journey.. from the moment we left for the ER with my

Meditation has been proven to help focus, reduce anxiety and increase energy. It takes many forms; not just sitting in lotus position, chanting OM. My meditation has many forms- from coloring, and journaling, to knotting malas and doing Reiki. May is “mental health month”, and as it’s on its final day, I thought I would share how creating with fiber

Through this process of getting sick, surgeries and all that comes with "getting better", I'm learning recovery is about far more than just the physical wounds healing. When it is said that "recovery is a journey" and "healing is different than recovering." , I didn't fully understand what that meant. It really is difficult to prepare yourself for what is

It’s done and over and was a much shorter stay at the hospital- sadly less grilled cheese sandwiches for me… The surgery was about 2 hours, and they found no additional infection- so it’s already better in multiple ways then the first 2 surgeries. I was only in the hospital 3 days total, and my Dad brought me home Wednesday

I know I’ve been sorta quiet these last months. I’m not going to lie, it’s been some hard moments. And some less hard.. and I

Each year, in Kansas City, a worldwide gathering of spinners happens (often in the lobby of the hotel) that sparks the soul. Jacey and the folks at Ply Magazine put on quite the spinners retreat- bringing in amazing teachers, providing an incredible market of vendors, and lots of other super fun activities to bring people together and fuel the creative

So here we are, almost 4 weeks post surgery, and things are going amazingly well- especially compared to the last time. Surgery itself was long. 6ish hours. The surgeon was able to take the damaged piece of my small intestine, while also finding some deep infections and additional fistulas that he somewhat expected. He felt the best way for me
